# The Metastable Solitude: computational research report

The strongest positive result is now stellar: prescribed nuclear changes survive structural adjustment and can strongly alter core carbon and oxygen. The larger claim remains unestablished. No tested point supplies a complete, observationally allowed field history, distinctive observed signature, or explanation of cosmic solitude.

This report covers actual executed calculations, including failures. It records 919 scoped validated run records and 1334624 passing recorded checks, counting repeated convergence runs. These counts are not numbers of independent experiments or measurements. The exact lifecycle inventory and selected evidence map are in `campaign-metrics.json`. The task ledger preserves all 102 acceptance items.

## 1. Provenance, reproduction and numerical accounting — E00

All 49 internal legacy hashes and all 20 handoff-manifest entries match. The inherited eight tests and full workflow were rerun: 135 environmental parcel cases, 15 single-field and three coupled-field bounces, plus saved diagnostics. All 16 historical CSV tables and all eight result JSON trees were compared numerically at declared tolerances. Execution wall time is recorded as machine-dependent metadata, not compared for equality with a physical result. The extra root REPORT.md is outside the handoff manifest and contains broken figure links; its structural-validator failure remains recorded. [E00-json](runs/20260927T162854384012Z-E00-json/manifest.json)

All 98 historical REACLIB coefficients were independently checked against frozen source files. A separate current REACLIB baseline and STARLIB comparison preserve rather than overwrite historical normalizations. Identical-reactant factorials, molar abundance conventions, baryon conservation, positivity and the distinction between atomic rest-mass release and deposited heat are tested. The initial AME download failure was subsequently resolved with evaluated primary inputs; the old pilot's missing-data description is superseded. [E00](runs/20260927T015443056558Z-E00/manifest.json), [E00-current](runs/20260927T062336151513Z-E00-current/manifest.json)

Run records contain configuration and source hashes, environment, input/output hashes, commands, validations and elapsed time. Later expanded-stage records additionally preserve complete implementation ZIPs. Parent process CPU excludes subprocess CPU; no aggregate CPU estimate is invented. In-progress records are not counted as failed, and preserved failed records are not silently removed. Individual completed stellar tracks were independently revalidated when another case caused their ensemble parent to fail.

## 2. Nuclear energies and capture — E01–E02

AME2020 neutral-atomic masses and ENSDF give a Hoyle excitation of 7654.07 ± 0.19 keV and an excess above three alpha particles of 379.32239 keV in the stated atomic convention. Removing electron binding changes the excess by +0.793093 keV, to 380.11548 keV. That convention correction is not permission to retune an empirical reaction-rate fit. The diagram separates the excitation from the physically relevant relative threshold. [E01-evaluated](runs/20260927T062341249451Z-E01-evaluated/manifest.json)

The electromagnetic response Q_alpha=3.99±0.09 MeV and three alternative quark-response determinations were implemented from primary papers. Their reference scales and correlation scenarios (−0.8, 0, +0.8) remain explicit; separate determinations are not averaged into a posterior. Both signs and finite step sizes are tested. Width scenarios and nonresonant baseline terms are kept separate. Crossing a nuclear binding threshold cannot be extrapolated with the same derivative or reaction topology. [Epelbaum et al. (2013), Dependence of the triple-alpha process on the fundamental constants of nature](https://arxiv.org/abs/1303.4856v2); [Lähde, Meißner and Epelbaum (2020), An update on fine-tunings in the triple-alpha process](https://arxiv.org/abs/1906.00607v1).

The capture implementation includes the four coherent terms in each modeled E1/E2 channel, Coulomb/Whittaker integrals, interference, regulator conventions and multiprecision controls. It computes 6,174 amplitude points. The published main-text E1 counterterm 272125 gives large disagreement with the reference low-energy curve, whereas the appendix value 268750 gives approximately 5% agreement; the selected appendix E2 convention gives approximately 2.2%. Cancellation makes rounding consequential. At 0.3 MeV the reconstructed S factors are 34.799525 and 40.543495 keV barn. The ambiguity is preserved, not hidden by refitting hypothetical phases to laboratory data. [E02-full](runs/20260927T061740090093Z-E02-full/manifest.json); [Meißner, Metsch and Meyer (2026), Fine-tunings in radiative alpha-particle capture on carbon-12](https://arxiv.org/abs/2601.11180v2).

Thermal integration replaces a single-collision-energy ratio. With alpha raised by 200 ppm and fitted nuclear inputs held fixed, the modeled ground-state rate ratio is approximately 0.704 at 0.1 GK, 0.652 at 0.2 GK and 0.642 at 0.3 GK. This includes the modeled ground-state amplitudes, not every capture channel: cascades and the omitted high-energy E2 resonance remain absent. Changing subthreshold binding and effective interactions consistently requires derivatives not supplied by the baseline fit. The STARLIB/REACLIB baseline and the response calculation are distinct inputs.

Five primary EXFOR accessions preserve E1/E2 information, energy conventions, statistical errors and available normalization groups. Unreported correlated errors are explicit scenarios, not manufactured covariance. Ueda/Makii and Kunz normalization treatments were corrected against their source records. Total cross sections cannot be treated as measured ground-state fractions when cascades are unresolved. [E02-EXFOR](runs/20260927T130334139769Z-E02-EXFOR/manifest.json)

## 3. Parcels, compensation and heat — E03

The expanded program runs 371 cases comparing 3-, 6-, 13- and 32-species networks (161 reactions in the largest), ordinary temperature/density/composition alternatives, published-rate alternatives and declared correlated responses. Equal elapsed time, equal helium depletion and a finite available duration are different outputs; unreached depletion targets remain unreached. Reverse reactions, plasma screening and consistent reaction energies are added separately. Stiff BDF/Radau comparisons and independent library fluxes validate a signed polynomial extension used within implicit solver iterations; accepted abundances remain positive.

In the restricted forward network, multiplying the triple-alpha coefficient by r and density by 1/r multiplies every flux by 1/r. The composition trajectory is therefore unchanged while its clock rescales. Expanded physics can break that identity. The density-compensated thirteen-species trajectories still nearly coincide in the tested case; this is a parcel control, not a prediction that a star chooses that density. [E03](runs/20260927T023342111171Z-E03/manifest.json), [E03-extended](runs/20260927T065733690412Z-E03-extended/manifest.json), [E03-trajectories](runs/20260927T134010148694Z-E03-trajectories/manifest.json)

Thermal feedback is also integrated, using an ideal fully ionized gas plus radiation and a tracked optional heat-bath sink. Composition-dependent thermal energy and atomic-mass release close the budget; time refinement, baryon and energy tests pass. This calculation omits expansion, degeneracy, Coulomb EOS and weak/neutrino corrections and stops at its declared temperature/fuel limits. A constant-density parcel remains distinct from MESA evolution. Stable-Be8 pathways are blocked by missing matched binding energies and rates. [E03-feedback](runs/20260927T141724061851Z-E03-feedback/manifest.json)

## 4. Actual stellar evolution and material release — E04

MESA 26.04.1 (c8c202662922a22b3efefa824473ad615c623afd) and SDK 26.6.1/gfortran 15.2 were downloaded from official sources, checksum-checked, compiled and tested. An upstream explicit-pi import and Apple-arm64 architecture normalization were recorded; the latter prevents an inadvertent unoptimized build. Failed download/build/startup attempts remain in the archive. Ordinary tracks use a documented modern reconstruction, not an exact reproduction of unpublished author inlists. The original comparison paper is [Huang, Adams and Grohs (2018), Sensitivity of Carbon and Oxygen Yields to the Triple-Alpha Resonance in Massive Stars](https://arxiv.org/abs/1809.09168v1).

The solar-metallicity ensemble shares an ordinary H-exhausted, pre-helium-ignition checkpoint. It uses approximate-21 nuclear species, Ledoux mixing, declared overshoot, Dutch winds, ordinary EOS/opacities and ordinary weak rates. Reverse and forward perturbed nuclear rates share the multiplier. The photon cases use the E02 thermal response with declared 50% or 100% ground-state fractions and taper outside the computed temperature domain. They are nuclear-response stars, not fully matched alternate-Higgs microphysics.

The ordinary track ends at 12,647,033.37 years with mass 13.383127 solar masses. Its helium-burning central temperature rises from about 153.1 to 245.0 million K over the reported helium mask. Temperature is a calculated structural response. Isolated ±39.9 keV shifts change final core composition substantially; the smaller, correlated photon-direction test gives a different result. Winds and helium-mixing alternatives test ordinary uncertainty. Mesh and time are refined using MESA's supported `time_delta_coeff`, rather than an impermissibly small `varcontrol_target`. [E04-summary](runs/20260927T162453968489Z-E04-summary/manifest.json), [E04-refinement](runs/20260927T145105723800Z-E04-refinement/manifest.json)

`convergence.json` reports retained and released carbon/oxygen differences, and the source manifest records each individual parent status. The approximate-21 initial-metal projection does not preserve an isotope-complete solar Fe mixture; no Fe/H yield prediction is inferred from it. Late-on and early-off runs impose a recorded reaction-rate change during helium burning with unchanged nuclear ground masses. No mass-coordinate inconsistency or unaccounted changing rest mass is inserted, but these restarts are not physical wall passages and do not supply a reversal mechanism. [E04-transitions](runs/20260927T145256317601Z-E04-transitions/manifest.json)

The advanced continuation now reaches a retained Fe52+Fe54+Fe56 inventory of 0.100702 solar masses at age 12747635.632217 years. Its saved final profile passes the declared iron endpoint and energy checks. Earlier failed and interrupted attempts remain preserved. The [timestep study](advanced-timestep-study.json) records the common-restart control and its comparison. [E04-advanced](runs/20260930T164728219271Z-E04-advanced/manifest.json) The coarse predictive-target run accepts a 0.103-dex central-temperature jump and a 0.316 central-silicon change in one step. Endpoint and energy checks alone do not validate that pulse; it requires the separate explicit step-rejection study. The completed control suite records 2 successful endpoints and 12 failed integrations across predictive targets, fixed-mesh hard limits and adaptive spatial refinement. A failed integration is not evidence of absent iron. The middle fixed-mesh hard-limit trial reaches the minimum timestep, so adjacent temporal convergence is not demonstrated. The adaptive pair removes the inherited 20-day remeshing cutoff and halves the spatial mesh coefficient while holding time_delta_coeff and hard temporal/endpoint bounds fixed. A further pair integrates nuclear burning together with structure rather than splitting their updates, with the same hard acceptance bounds. Lowering the coupled trial timestep floor from 1e-6 to 1e-12 seconds permits one additional accepted step but again fails before the endpoint. A separate eps_grav energy-form trial retains the original floor and also fails, with an abundance residual above tolerance. The saved-state diagnostic exposes energy-subtraction cancellation at tiny steps; it does not identify a unique cause or establish dynamical breakdown. Three direct Jacobian diagnostics expose a local abundance-clipping inconsistency in a stalled trial state. A stricter abundance guard, isolated backtracking and a fraction-to-admissible-boundary cap reproduce the checkpoint but still fail the unchanged endpoint gates. The local derivative mismatch is measured; it does not prove a sole cause for every earlier failure or establish converged pulse physics. A subsequent clip-normalize-floor chain-rule correction fixes the sampled chemistry derivatives, with agreement around 1e-10 relative in the clipped state and a separately checked ordinary state. The projection map passes 101 finite-difference checks. Extending the correction to all abundance columns still leaves a reproducible wrong-sign energy derivative, so the full-Jacobian candidate fails its gate and no endpoint trial is admitted. The 15-check synthesis validates this local success and global rejection, not a converged star. See the [chain-rule findings](advanced-chain-findings.md). New isolated thermodynamic diagnostics show that the skipped EOS fallback causes most of the wrong-sign neighboring energy entry, but threshold and current-EOS candidates still fail tight derivative gates; momentum and luminosity-constraint columns also fail. No endpoint is admitted. See [thermodynamic decomposition](advanced-thermodynamic-findings.md). A subsequent coupled derivative audit repairs ordinary radiative luminosity composition columns and the diagnostic state reset. Nonradiative clipped-state transport and energy cancellation still fail; the 22-check synthesis and independent review certify this diagnosis only, with no corrected endpoint. See [coupled derivative findings](coupled-derivative-findings.md). The predictive-target comparison fails iron_endpoint. The [complete endpoint and acceptance table](advanced-burning-findings.md) preserves failures and distinguishes integration from convergence. Earlier phases, nuclear-network uncertainty and physical field matching remain separate. No terminal explosion, compact remnant or supernova ejecta are assigned. Broader stellar populations remain conditional on a common matched field/nuclear model.

## 5. Consistent fields, tunneling and real-time boundaries — E05–E06

M1-Higgs, M1-photon, M2 screening, prescribed M3 and canonical M4 have separate parameter cards. The M1 canonical scalar–Higgs potential uses a stabilized valley and an independently explicit bias. Hessians include both fields. The leading heavy-threshold map gives Lambda_QCD proportional to h^(2/9), electron/QCD and light-quark/QCD ratios proportional to h^(7/9), and G_F Lambda_QCD² proportional to h^(−14/9), under fixed high-scale strong coupling/Yukawas. The photon-only family varies alpha with positive B_F while keeping those leading mass ratios fixed. Decoupling and physically equivalent sign phases are tested. [E05-E06-fields](runs/20260927T064011591343Z-E05-E06-fields/manifest.json)

An independent full two-field boundary-value solver reproduces actions 399.822845 (bias 1) and 103263.6302 (bias 0.2), agreeing with independent path deformation. The full coupled fluctuation operator has one physical negative radial mode; translation modes approach zero on refinement and higher angular modes stay positive. Finite-grid translation eigenvalues are not extra physical instabilities. A determinant-derived decay prefactor is still absent. [E06-coupled-modes](runs/20260927T140828510865Z-E06-coupled-modes/manifest.json)

O(3)/O(4), thin-wall and virial controls accompany the scalar branch. Thermal Bose integrals were independently checked rather than clipping invalid high-temperature expansions. Minima, barriers and nucleation actions are followed under stated thermal approximations. This is not a full finite-temperature Higgs-plasma calculation. The SM-valley loop diagnostic specifies Landau gauge, MS-bar inputs and five counterterm conditions; its residual bias is scheme-conditioned. Singlet/off-valley and higher-loop corrections remain missing. A raw loop-energy estimate is not a universal lower bound.

Actual scalar Coleman–De Luccia BVPs with matched boundary subtraction recover the flat-space limit. At f=100 GeV, f²/M_Pl²≈1.69×10⁻³³; local bounce gravity is tiny, but the specified phase-energy difference still matters for the interior cosmic geometry. The Minkowski-false/AdS-true construction does not establish an otherwise ordinary neighboring region. Lowering the field scale or barrier is checked against perturbativity, cutoff and force/source consistency rather than silently preserving favorable nuclear effects. [E05-E06-fields](runs/20260927T064011591343Z-E05-E06-fields/manifest.json), [E12-constraints](runs/20260927T123831205387Z-E12-constraints/manifest.json)

Lorentzian planar walls, spherical bubbles and seeded three-dimensional domain fields were actually evolved, with energy/radiation/friction accounting and mesh/box/time checks. Bubble profiles start at zero real-time derivative from a tunneling initial condition; Euclidean radius is never used as physical time. At lambda=0.125 and f=100 GeV, the natural time unit is 1.86×10⁻²⁶ seconds. Phenomenological damping is not a derived plasma collision kernel, and seeded domains do not supply their own cosmological formation probability. [E06-dynamics](runs/20260927T065507570314Z-E06-dynamics/manifest.json), [E06-bubbles](runs/20260927T124610990053Z-E06-bubbles/manifest.json), [E08-domains](runs/20260927T122957970444Z-E08-domains/manifest.json)

## 6. Screening on a real stellar profile — E07

The nonlinear symmetron-like model includes the same photon-induced composition source used for force predictions. Homogeneous and spherical controls precede diffuse-cloud, planetary and actual MESA profiles. The stellar source uses rho+u/c²−3P/c² in the stated weak-gravity frame. Separate interior/exterior domains enforce matching at the photospheric density discontinuity; refined BVP solutions agree.

At central helium 0.47925, the burning-weighted alpha relative to dense Earth is exactly 1 at the resolved precision. Both environments screen to the same local reference, although the vacuum value differs. The matched nuclear-network calculation consequently returns ordinary composition. Maximum extra acceleration inside this snapshot is about 0.00342 times ordinary gravity for the photon benchmark, but its planetary exterior diagnostic is hundreds of times gravity; the fixed-planet profile is not a viable hydrostatic environment. This is not a precision MICROSCOPE recast. Even ±field couplings are observationally equivalent, and the tested density restoration is continuous rather than a first-order metastable transition. [E07-stellar](runs/20260927T134204118612Z-E07-stellar/manifest.json), [E07-matter](runs/20260927T141929700876Z-E07-matter/manifest.json), [E12-constraints](runs/20260927T123831205387Z-E12-constraints/manifest.json)

## 7. Histories, duration and an observer's past light cone — E08

Poisson overlap geometry is checked analytically, by quadrature and independently sampled Monte Carlo. Old-phase survival and new-phase occupancy require different conditioning. FLRW comoving trajectories use physical nucleation volumes and recover analytic power-law limits. Thermal histories are conditional on occupying the stated false basin; they do not infer occupation from the count of minima.

Three-dimensional homogeneous and spatially modulated nucleation histories include occupied-region rejection. Separate nonlinear field runs demonstrate coarsening and collapse of prescribed initial domains. Saved Lorentzian bubble radii replace convenient constant speeds in a further history experiment; finite initial radius and the difference between phantom unions and physical rejection remain explicit. The benchmark's microscopic dimensional duration cannot be converted into billions of years without a new allowed parameter choice. [E08-histories](runs/20260927T071144922221Z-E08-histories/manifest.json), [E08-domains](runs/20260927T122957970444Z-E08-domains/manifest.json), [E08-field-fronts](runs/20260927T130103425275Z-E08-field-fronts/manifest.json)

Observer histories require uninterrupted suitable intervals, with the duration threshold treated as a sensitivity choice rather than a measured biological constant. Targets are evaluated at emission events on the past light cone. The luminal point-front limiting argument follows the triangle inequality: changed-source light cannot precede the same light-speed front under those assumptions. Slower or finite-radius models have different qualifications. Detection examples average exp(−Lambda_detected) over uncertain intensities rather than exponentiating a mean. Emergence, survey selection and cosmic site weights remain uncalibrated; phase statistics are not civilization probabilities.

## 8. Molecular structure, time-dependent work and a functional test — E09

PySCF calculations include H2, water, triplet oxygen, CO, CO2, ammonia and a proton-transfer complex, with charges/spins, basis/method checks and frequencies. A supposed proton-complex baseline was identified as a saddle and replaced by a true minimum. Constrained proton-transfer coordinates at fixed O–O separations are reported as such; they are not relaxed reaction barriers or complete catalysis.

Explicit H2 and water Hamiltonian dilation reproduces nonrelativistic Coulomb scaling after rescaling lengths by 1/(m_e alpha) and energies by m_e alpha². Relative nuclear masses and scalar-relativistic corrections are separate departures. HF/FCI H2 basis comparisons and actual two-electron time-dependent evolution check sudden and adiabatic limits, norm and background work. At +1% alpha the sudden finite-basis excited population is about 8.1×10⁻⁵; at +200 ppm it is about 3.3×10⁻⁸. Slow cases approach numerical zero. Fixed nuclei, a closed basis and no bath mean dissociation/relaxation or an organism's survival are not calculated. [E09-molecules](runs/20260927T060115087382Z-E09-molecules/manifest.json), [E09-extended](runs/20260927T061356137462Z-E09-extended/manifest.json), [E09-traces](runs/20260927T134046614274Z-E09-traces/manifest.json)

A declared three-state functional/damaged/repair-bound network includes every reverse reaction, local detailed balance, fuel driving, stationary current and entropy production. Its energies/barriers are illustrative design parameters, not fitted biomolecular measurements. A 7,812-point adaptation scan varies temperature, catalyst and fuel activity over explicit bounds. Common energy rescaling admits an exact compensating temperature change; all tested energy scales retain the chosen high-occupation function under this adaptation class. Performance thresholds are research choices, not probabilities of life. [E09-function](runs/20260927T141724466374Z-E09-function/manifest.json)

## 9. Spectral inference and false positives — E10

The released ESPRESSO coadd, laboratory/sensitivity/isotope inputs and published component structure were frozen. Six FeII windows include blending, Voigt optical depth, instrument/bin convolution, continuum nuisance and calibration uncertainty. Analytic Jacobians have independent numerical checks. The 252 synthetic trials include nulls, 5/200-ppm injections, correlated noise, isotope and calibration alternatives. Nominal 95% coverage is near 0.967 in the matched null case but 0.05 for the deliberately unmodeled calibration scenario; its false-3-sigma fraction is 0.875. Modeling calibration restores much of the coverage, while correlated-noise limitations remain visible. [E10-spectra](runs/20260927T070724025464Z-E10-spectra/manifest.json)

Freely fitting 45 components (154 parameters, 2,931 pixels) remained nonconverged after rescaling and longer optimization. Those likelihood values are not interpreted as measurements. Fixing published velocities and widths gives converged conditional fits, with alpha estimates roughly 0.45–1.22 ppm across tested calibration/noise/isotope/width choices. That conditional range omits component-structure uncertainty and is neither an independent robust constraint nor a candidate field signal. Individual exposure reduction/calibration was not independently rebuilt. [E10-conditional](runs/20260927T123223276223Z-E10-conditional/manifest.json); [Murphy et al. (2022), Fundamental physics with ESPRESSO toward HE 0515−4414](https://arxiv.org/abs/2112.05819).

## 10. Temporary histories and abundance observations — E11

Actual stellar wind kernels drive a conservative two-reservoir enrichment calculation, including delayed returns, locked material, primordial inflow, outflow and four stellar cohorts. Total system mass closes to the recorded tolerance and halved timesteps control abundance error. Early and later placement of the temporary rate history share endpoint masses and ordinary rates. The rate switch does not derive a physical phase reversal. Winds are truncated at the stellar endpoint; retained material is an unresolved future-ejecta reservoir, not an asserted compact-remnant mass. Net-yield recycling is a first-order birth-composition correction whose positivity and actual composition excursions are saved. [E11-enrichment](runs/20260927T162544293587Z-E11-enrichment/manifest.json)

The public JINAbase selection ([Fe/H]<−2, all references) contains 1,427 analyses of 1,014 distinct stars; 269 stars have duplicate analyses. Carbon upper limits, oxygen limits and both-sided censoring remain distinct. Dwarfs/subgiants supply 143 C/O analyses under the declared selection. A hierarchical likelihood shares latent stellar abundance across repeated analyses and includes publication offsets. Error floors and common-source widths are declared alternatives because the public interface does not provide full covariance. A common C/O field offset is exactly degenerate with the ordinary population intercept. The wind-only solar-metallicity cohort is not fitted as a model of the metal-poor catalogue. [E11-abundances](runs/20260927T124027728147Z-E11-abundances/manifest.json); [Abohalima and Frebel (2018), JINAbase](https://arxiv.org/abs/1711.04410).

## 11. Independent constraints and measurements — E12

Scalar mass mixing and the cubic coupling supply collider production/decay predictions, including open H→ss widths. Comparisons use the applicable near-125-GeV CMS inclusive summary and the PDG width, with a clearly labeled envelope rather than a channel likelihood. Points outside the mass/perturbativity assumptions are flagged. A passing local collider summary does not establish an allowed second phase. Uniform finite-range force integrals, liquid-drop composition charges and nonlinear profiles expose source backreaction; the Eotvos denominator includes the mean extra acceleration instead of assuming it is negligible. Precision Earth/satellite/cavity/hadronic modeling remains absent. [E12-constraints](runs/20260927T123831205387Z-E12-constraints/manifest.json)

Six-channel Rb/Cs clock templates include relative reference frequencies, boxcar sampling, propagation delays, shared-reference covariance, AR noise and offset/drift removal. Sixteen shape/duration/coupling scenarios use 300 null/injection trials each. Noise amplitude and geometry are design choices, not measured GPS sensitivity; no real GPS event search was performed. A common calibration event can share a field-template projection, emphasizing independent channel relationships. A seconds-long injected waveform is not the predicted duration of the 100-GeV wall.

PRyMordial ordinary full-correction and convergence baselines reproduce Yp≈0.24689 and D/H≈2.46×10⁻⁵. Twenty-eight matched-leading response cases change masses, weak rates, reverse Q values and expansion consistently within a declared reduced network. Born-order weak rates shift even the ordinary Yp to about 0.24254, so those responses cannot be used for an absolute observational exclusion. Two deuteron-response closures give substantially different answers. Full field-dependent higher-order weak and strong forward nuclear responses remain missing; failed larger-network attempts are preserved. The twelve-reaction integration is not mislabeled as a 63-reaction evolved network merely because the reverse-Q input table is larger. [E12-BBN-matched](runs/20260927T121631158013Z-E12-BBN-matched/manifest.json)

`constraint-applicability.json` specifies place, epoch, environment, range and observable for each dataset. An early phase is constrained by early-time observations when it is present, whereas a remote late background is not automatically today's laboratory field. Recombination/structure likelihoods require an actual populated history; one is not assembled from incompatible favorable examples. `measurement-priorities.json` identifies missing capture derivatives and channel data, field-history control, matched stellar microphysics/ejecta, calibration and abundance covariance as distinct next inputs. Code cannot provide the missing physical measurements.

## 12. Optional oscillatory branch — E13

The canonical phi-six subset of the cited oscillon theory was specified and its asymptotic three-dimensional envelope reproduced. Nine radial cases vary amplitude, perturbation, grid, box, damping and integrator while measuring fixed-core energy and absorption loss. At 2,000 mass-times, some 3D cores radiate most of their energy while the 1D control and the smallest-amplitude tested 3D case retain much more. This does not establish nonspherical stability, a formation population or a cosmic lifetime. At a 25-GeV mass, the duration is only about 5×10⁻²³ seconds. [E13-oscillons](runs/20260927T114301879794Z-E13-oscillons/manifest.json); [Amin (2013), K-Oscillons: Oscillons with Non-Canonical Kinetic Terms](https://arxiv.org/abs/1303.1102).

Finite-basis H2 Floquet comparisons use 128 driving periods, so physical durations differ between frequencies. Basis/time-step and unitarity controls validate that formal calculation. A GeV-frequency drive lies outside nonrelativistic molecular validity; apparent averaging in the finite basis cannot be interpreted as physical molecular protection. No M4 point supplies a complete matched persistence/matter/observational chain. [E13-chemistry](runs/20260927T123100002963Z-E13-chemistry/manifest.json)

## 13. Integration, uncertainty and held-out checks — E14

The benchmark cards retain M1-Higgs, M1-photon, screened M2, externally prescribed M3 and canonical M4 as separate theories or response scenarios. Decoupled points are null controls. Low field scales can invalidate the stellar effective theory or the assumed Higgs mass spectrum; a small barrier can introduce uncontrolled material sourcing. The tested M2 profile removes its intended core contrast. M3 can leave a memory in a response calculation without supplying its physical formation/reversal. No point is labeled a complete allowed history. [E14-integrated](runs/20260927T163106020428Z-E14-integrated/manifest.json)

Enrichment responses are projected against ordinary mixing, star-formation, inflow and outflow directions using explicit 0.02/0.1/0.3-dex design errors. These are not observational covariance or a significance calibration. Derivative refinement, singular values and rank accompany the projection. Nonlinear ordinary histories then fit C/O and N/O, with Ne/O and Mg/O reserved as held-out outputs. Bounded Powell fits converge after the underdetermined least-squares attempts failed; a declared weak minimum-displacement penalty selects a nuisance witness, not a posterior. Alternate computed wind/mixing stellar kernels are tested separately, without invented interpolation between stars. Shared denominators limit the independent information of those outputs. The complete residual vectors, stellar-refinement comparison and parameter bounds are saved.

Numerical error, measured-input uncertainty, nuclear-theory scenarios, ordinary astrophysical nuisance and model inadequacy are reported separately. Unknown correlated nuclear responses are not disguised by a diagonal covariance or a model-averaged posterior. Varying a scan range, adaptation threshold or observer duration measures dependence on a research choice; the fraction of grid points meeting a criterion is never a cosmic probability.

## 14. Task completion, failures and reproduction

The [102-task checklist](task-checklist.md) gives exact acceptance wording, scoped outcomes, run identifiers and outstanding dependencies. [Findings](findings.md) gives the concise numerical comparison; [CLAIMS.json](CLAIMS.json) preserves all fifteen scientific claims. A partial task stays open even when its numerical component passed. Failed solver iterations do not exclude a physical theory, and missing data are not null observations.

From `content/works/the-metastable-solitude/research`: `uv sync --frozen`, then `uv run --offline --frozen python run.py smoke` runs the fast offline controls. `run.py full STAGE` executes a documented stage; `run.py validate` checks frozen output hashes. `run.py full render`, `run.py full animations`, and `run.py full report` regenerate figures, animations and this report from saved results. MESA additionally requires the pinned recorded compiler/source toolchain. Network acquisition is explicit and separate; full expensive reruns are not hidden inside a smoke test. See the project README for dependency order and conditional stages.

Every visual has saved plotted/frame data, input hashes, run IDs, model scope, caption and accessible text. The public essay uses eight visuals; the technical gallery includes the original eighteen visual families and the nine added project figures, with ten animation documents. Animations start paused and offer static fallbacks. No Euclidean bounce is animated as time, and no visual supplies additional empirical evidence.

The [release verification](validation.md) records the current Python, website, Rust, browser and artifact-integrity checks, including existing repository-wide failures.

## E15–E23: new research projects and executed components

These nine projects extend the original 102-task checklist. All have executed calculations; none is marked complete at its full research-grade scope. No new laboratory or astronomical measurements were made. Source-convention failures, missing matched interactions and invalid regimes remain visible.

### E15 — Axion-dependent nuclear physics

The theta direction is even and begins quadratically near zero. Ordinary 2π-related minima have the same nuclear physics. The literal OBE regulator readings fail to reproduce the published deuteron baseline (about −3.16/−3.96 MeV under the MeV-numeric reading, versus −2.224 MeV). This is an unresolved source convention, not a physical exclusion. Extra harmonics create finite-theta minima in a declared alternative, but do not solve their vacuum energy or history. Local static neutron-EDM limits restrict theta to order 10⁻¹⁰ under the stated hadronic/no-cancellation assumptions; that is not a universal bound on remote phases.

Completed components:

- Leading chiral pion/nucleon response, both signs and quadratic small-angle control.
- Literal two-nucleon source audit with units, mesh and box alternatives.
- Ordinary and extra-harmonic extrema, homogeneous dynamics, dimensional scales and local neutron-EDM applicability.

Still required:

- Resolve the published regulator and beta-phase-space conventions before promoting a nuclear binding prediction.
- Matched light/heavy nuclear interactions, nuclear stability, hydrogen/helium rates and stellar propagation.
- A radiatively controlled, gravitationally consistent formation and persistence history.

### E16 — Matter-induced finite regions

A prescribed large shallow source launches an escaping conversion during the resolved interval; other finite cases have no completed conversion by the stopping time. The coupled one-mode calculation conserves global energy with refinement, but the low-inertia example reaches about 0.84c and violates its nonrelativistic matter assumption. A heavier cloud stays below 0.077c and its boundary outruns the source by the finite endpoint. No long-lived confined ordinary-matter phase is established. A longer underresolved accelerating-wall attempt is preserved as a numerical failure.

Completed components:

- Published spherical field equation with prescribed smooth sources and an independent Poisson control.
- External work accounting and resolved finite-time formation/escape cases.
- Reciprocal field/cloud feedback in a one-mode Hamiltonian reduction.

Still required:

- Matched equation of state, particle masses and physical source normalization.
- Local field–fluid stress-energy conservation, shocks and relativistic gravity.
- Long-time confinement, nonspherical stability, ejecta and reach into relevant material.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T161038643232Z-E16-confinement](runs/20260927T161038643232Z-E16-confinement/manifest.json), [20260927T161829986836Z-E16-refinement](runs/20260927T161829986836Z-E16-refinement/manifest.json).

### E17 — Conserved-particle pockets

493 of 1020 sampled points pass the declared ideal radial/escape/fission/compactness gates. This is a diagnostic count, not a probability or proof of complete stability. The specified ordinary-matter coupling is zero, so these objects supply no changed chemistry. Formation abundance is unknown.

Completed components:

- Explicit scalar potential and field-dependent fermion mass with a conserved population.
- Radius, radial curvature, zero-temperature escape, fission and compactness diagnostics.
- Hamiltonian radial perturbations and Dirac mass-step transmission.

Still required:

- Self-consistent finite-bias profiles, collisions, thermal evaporation and transport feedback.
- Scalar attraction, nonspherical modes and relativistic collapse.
- Formation abundance and an allowed nonzero ordinary-matter coupling.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T155224454500Z-E17-pockets](runs/20260927T155224454500Z-E17-pockets/manifest.json).

Primary sources: [source 1](https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.04430), [source 2](https://arxiv.org/abs/2106.00111).

### E18 — Nonlinear continuum surrogate

Adding two actively selected basis points lowers the median held-out S-matrix error from 0.000301 to 3.6e-09; the largest six-state error is 7.85e-07. The bound/virtual threshold occurs at attraction -98.455223 MeV in this benchmark. The disagreement indicator is heuristic, not a calibrated posterior. This is a validated continuum method, not an alpha–alpha, Hoyle or field-dependent nuclear prediction.

Completed components:

- Published Minnesota two-nucleon continuum benchmark with outgoing/asymptotic boundary conditions.
- Kohn eigenvector continuation, active basis selection and 256 reserved direct calculations.
- Bound/virtual pole continuation and independent matching-radius checks.

Still required:

- A matched field-dependent alpha–alpha Hamiltonian and its truncation covariance.
- Three-body interactions, Hoyle poles, radiative operators and capture channels.
- Calibrated emulator uncertainty across the actual nuclear parameter map.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T155225274142Z-E18-surrogate](runs/20260927T155225274142Z-E18-surrogate/manifest.json).

Primary sources: [source 1](https://arxiv.org/abs/2007.03635).

### E19 — Enrichment and cloud cooling

C/O redistribution changes atomic cooling at fixed total metallicity, but the actual wind C fractions within C+O cluster near 0.227 despite large differences in stellar core carbon. The declared 0.05/0.95 pattern controls are much more different. One-zone Jeans masses are diagnostics, not fragment counts or final stellar masses. Tracks stop at the first opacity or collision-data validity limit when reached; dust and molecular alternatives remain uncomputed.

Completed components:

- Evaluated C+ and O collisional-radiative populations including CMB detailed balance.
- Actual stellar wind ratios compared at the same total metal abundance.
- One-zone free-fall cooling with timestep controls, opacity and collision-data validity stops.

Still required:

- Complete stellar ejecta and dust composition.
- Molecular/dust physics and radiative transfer.
- Resolved turbulent cloud ensembles, feedback, fragmentation and later stellar mass statistics.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T161038868296Z-E19-cooling](runs/20260927T161038868296Z-E19-cooling/manifest.json).

### E20 — Isotope histories

The raw-ratio fit recovers slope 0.07918392, intercept 0.09532406 and MSWD 4.243, consistent with the published regression. It measures integrated decay 0.07620512, not an independently fixed age. Changes in amplitude, duration and closure chronology can reproduce that same integral. Joint synthetic records have additional sensitivity but retain a first-order amplitude–duration degeneracy. Oklo capture admits temperature-dependent branches; a source sensitivity inequality is not converted into a Gaussian measurement. No changing-constants signal is inferred.

Completed components:

- Raw published IAB Re/Os ratios, errors-in-variables fit and duplicate-aware bootstrap.
- Time-integrated decay and parent/daughter conservation with free closure chronology.
- Oklo isotope inputs and thermal capture branches; joint synthetic recovery and time-window blind directions.

Still required:

- Per-analysis covariance, shared calibration, thermal histories and exchange.
- Joint real U/Pb/Re/Os closure information and a full reactor inference.
- Consistent heavy-nucleus response to the same field, including theta for E15.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T155040974099Z-E20-isotopes](runs/20260927T155040974099Z-E20-isotopes/manifest.json).

### E21 — Finite-inflation domain formation

After 60 e-folds the untilted model gives positive-phase probabilities about 0.000355, 0.5 and 0.999645 for initial fields −3, 0 and +3. These are conditional comoving-patch probabilities. Equal minima do not erase finite-duration memory. Spatial branching retains correlations lost by independent draws, but its octree geometry is an explicit approximation. The leading thermal potential merges minima at T/H=6; this is a gate, not an evolved reheating prediction.

Completed components:

- Finite-time Fokker–Planck solution with explicit initial conditions, positive mass-conserving generator and mesh control.
- Independent Langevin sampling and correlated branching-patch realizations.
- Leading thermal-minimum survival gate.

Still required:

- An isotropic spatial cosmology with a specified reheating history.
- Real-time walls, radiation/matter perturbations and survival to star formation.
- A viable field-to-matter map and subsequent observer-conditioned opportunities.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T155438746257Z-E21-stochastic](runs/20260927T155438746257Z-E21-stochastic/manifest.json).

Primary sources: [source 1](https://arxiv.org/abs/astro-ph/9407016).

### E22 — Correlated gravitational signatures

The exactly spherical subcase has zero tensor gravitational-wave source. Nonspherical test perturbations validate the projection but are not predicted signals. E17 masses and profiles yield lens scales under declared distances/speed; no formation fraction or detection rate is supplied. There is no justified ΩGW spectrum or combined chemistry/gravity detection forecast for these points.

Completed components:

- Same-potential E17 mass/radius lens geometry and extended projected profiles.
- Spherical transverse-traceless source null with angular refinement.
- Explicit applicability gate separating compact spherical events from thermal sound-wave sources.

Still required:

- A viable transition and nonspherical stress evolution with source lifetime.
- Cosmological propagation and a calibrated detector/survey selection.
- Pocket abundance and an allowed ordinary-matter effect from the same model.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T160536990169Z-E22-gravity](runs/20260927T160536990169Z-E22-gravity/manifest.json).

Primary sources: [source 1](https://arxiv.org/abs/1704.05871), [source 2](https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.04430).

### E23 — Atomic false-vacuum analogue

The released data support numerical checks of a thermal atomic transition. The 68 snapshots are independent destructive measurements, not 68 trajectories or a complete waiting-time sample. Critical energies recover the near-spinodal limit; all eight observed-data calibration fits converge. Some fitted points have activation exponent near or below unity, limiting a steep-barrier interpretation. Author-provided GPE curves stay separate from observed data and newly computed results. Nothing here demonstrates a cosmological field or varying fundamental constants.

Completed components:

- 68 released one-dimensional magnetization snapshots with threshold/window sensitivity.
- Independent thermal critical-droplet quadrature and near-spinodal asymptotic check.
- Deposited fit-curve reproduction and new fits to observed decay times with calibration alternatives.

Still required:

- Full images, shot calibration and published stochastic GPE noise/cutoff implementation.
- Longitudinal waiting times and observer-conditioned spatial histories.
- Apparatus and collaborators for new probe/confinement measurements.

Frozen evidence: [20260927T155658927995Z-E23-analogue](runs/20260927T155658927995Z-E23-analogue/manifest.json).

## Claim-to-evidence ledger

| Claim | Supported language |
|---|---|
| C01 | Distinct classical backgrounds and a coupled tunneling solution are independently reproduced. Their existence does not establish an occupied, observationally allowed cosmic phase. |
| C02 | Published local Hoyle responses and complete modeled ground-state capture amplitudes give nuclear sensitivity. Missing matched nuclear derivatives and a published coefficient ambiguity limit the alternative-phase prediction. |
| C03 | Actual stars adjust their structure yet retain substantial core carbon/oxygen differences under imposed rate changes. Winds and terminal ejecta must be distinguished; a uniquely field-induced population yield is not established. |
| C04 | Molecular rescaling and a defined adaptable maintenance network supply counterexamples to universal chemical failure. No calculation here excludes all organized chemistry or life. |
| C05 | Quantum and thermal actions and real-time boundaries are computed in declared models. Prefactor and formation-history gaps prevent a predicted cosmic phase population or lifetime. |
| C06 | Gravitational bounce controls and scale variants do not produce a benign populated region with the assumed ordinary stars. This is a limitation of the tested constructions, not a universal no-go theorem. |
| C07 | Applicable local summaries and synthetic recoveries are evaluated. No single complete field history passes all needed matter, population and observational checks. |
| C08 | Global phase rarity alone does not determine opportunities near a surviving observer. Shared histories, duration conditioning and past-light-cone selection change the relevant statistics. |
| C09 | The tested screened stellar burning region agrees with dense Earth in alpha, erasing that nuclear contrast. The photon benchmark also violates its fixed-planet force assumption. |
| C10 | A prescribed temporary rate history can leave a delayed wind-enrichment record after rates return. Formation, terminal ejecta and distinction from ordinary enrichment remain separate requirements. |
| C11 | A time-dependent molecular Hamiltonian produces duration-dependent excitation with accounted background work. A closed fixed-nuclei H2 basis does not establish dissociation or disruption of an organism. |
| C12 | No tested implementation establishes an explanation of the absence of detectable peers. |
| C13 | Hydrogen, H2 and water recover leading Coulomb dilation in the appropriate units. Nuclear masses, relativity, nonadiabatic driving and environmental conditions are distinct corrections. |
| C14 | Calibration and ordinary enrichment can imitate candidate patterns. Conditional real-spectrum fits and internal held-out outputs do not establish a distinctive observed field signature. |
| C15 | Specified canonical oscillons persist or radiate within finite numerical windows. Dimensional times, nonspherical stability, formation and a physically valid matched matter response prevent a complete alternative persistence claim. |

## Adopted next-phase plan: new evidence

Five further stages passed 111 scoped checks. Independent nuclear calculations retain the source discrepancies; charged continuum controls pass; isotope kernels expose temporal and nuisance degeneracy; the specified positive-harmonic axion family fails its late-time background energy gate. No integrated viable point or new observation is established. See [next-phase findings](next-phase-findings.md), [source questions](nuclear-reproduction-questions.md), and the [diagnostic gallery](/research/metastable/full/next-phase/index.html). Full-project completion counts are unchanged.

## Research continuation

Four additional stages passed 104 scoped checks: printed nuclear precision and independent kernels; matrix-input and norm controls; a real-ratio nonlinear chronology ridge; and consistent field/matter thermodynamics. The twenty-package execution map retains every physical gate. No matched field-to-ejecta history or new observation is established. See [findings](buildout-findings.md), [program](research-program.md), [source packet](source-input-packet.md), and [figures](/research/metastable/full/buildout/index.html).

## Executed experiments beyond prerequisite tracking

Eight new stages passed 293 scoped checks, including calibrated nuclear predictions, empirical pole matching, joint measured chronology, interacting npe-muon matter, reciprocal field dynamics, saved-shell release, reserved element predictions and thermal/gravitational modes. The cold cosine benchmark has a localized radial minimum and specified-seed dynamical access; a complete astrophysical field history remains unestablished. Ordinary alternatives absorb much of the delivered abundance contrast. [Current findings](experiment-findings.md) · [Seven figures and data](/research/metastable/full/experiments/index.html).

## Spin–isospin thresholds, populations and transitions

All twelve E24–E35 identifiers now have executed components, with 251 scoped checks. [Findings](spin-isospin-findings.md), [full-protocol coverage](spin-isospin-ledger.json) and [eight figures with data](/research/metastable/full/spin-isospin/index.html) distinguish code benchmarks, conditional calculations and unmet physical acceptance. New calculations cover coupled channels, poles, weak thresholds, local field matching, triton response, weak overlaps, restricted BBN populations, conditional ignition, continuum time evolution, synthetic identifiability, a Fe57 response and the source lattice two-body sector. No observationally viable threshold-crossing field history is established.
<!-- END SPIN ISOSPIN EXPERIMENTS -->

<!-- BEGIN PUBLIC INPUT CONTINUATION -->
## Public-input continuation

An additional 132 components passed 65221 scoped checks. [Results](public-input-findings.md), [coverage and remaining work](public-input-ledger.json), and [figures with data](/research/metastable/full/public-inputs/index.html) now include released nuclear posteriors, the Bonn A/B/C source benchmark, thermal weak conversion, solved neutral reactions, charged bound states and continuum phases, full-spin four-body predictions, microscopic trinucleon currents and a fitted axial contact transferred to reserved pp fusion, evaluated cross sections, conditional abundance likelihoods, full-EOS MESA contraction, coupled deuteron threshold passage, real dineutron-search limits, measured Th229 response, a dilute finite-temperature EOS the source compact-alpha locality test and public many-nucleon CCSD benchmarks. These replace several earlier “not run” entries. They do not supply the missing field response or complete charged three-body breakup, rigorous spectator-wave remainder bounds, four-body reactions or the thermodynamic many-body limit. Neutral higher-wave amplitudes cross breakup; independently normalized quartet l=0…4 exclusive flux now agrees with a separate elastic-loss calculation at the declared energies. Charged doublet P/D/F and quartet S/P/D/F phases run below breakup. Atomic components include finite-nuclear-mass thresholds, inclusive spectator kinematics and conditional helium charge kinetics; a corrected weak lifetime remains open. Matched-density thermal Gaussian states receive normal charge-conserving stability tests and negative-mode followups, followed by 96 pp/nn/np anomalous-curvature audits at 32 selected normal minima. Colder independent audits identify np anomalous saddles at 2 MeV; a subsequent analytic-response solve and coupled stability audit accept restricted Gaussian paired local minima at that point. Exact four-nucleon canonical density correlations and local quartet occupancy remain distinct from a thermodynamic limit.

Checkpoint21 preserves all128 prior scientific components and adds four independently reviewed scoped results. Review/controller checks remain separate from author component counts.

The full141-cell finite screened-contact certificate is independently reconstructed, but its source width0.0096595478245381 fails the unchanged2e-8 target. Original source/phase gates, zero-range certification and physical flux remain unadmitted. [Certificate review](w04-full-independent-screened-certificate-review-20261008.md).

One upper neutral-even Gaussian block has all5778 columns/181 panels independently reviewed. Its represented Rayleigh interval[3.4714277938751195e-7,3.4715099061157804e-7] is entirely below the unchanged2e-6 strictminimum threshold; this is not a physical negative mode or rigorous root/operator enclosure. Three blocks remain uncomputed. [Upper-block review](w10-upper-physical-independent-review-20261008.md).

The Re-only historical calculation demonstrates quantified non-identifiability:225 chronology-strength ridge points,183 admitted under the declared4.6Gyr ceiling, and zero marginalized rank with free chronology or heterogeneous inventories. Its inventory ceiling is conditional, not an empirical confidence interval or heavy-nucleus theta constraint. [Historical inference](isotope-nonidentifiability-findings-20261008.md).

Six fixed planar collision cases reach dimensionless tau120,57000 steps and726 frames with an independent full-history review. The saved finite-box histories show rebound and two surviving walls at tau120. This is a return-controlled collision in a separate field branch, with no complete annihilation to measured pure radiation, ordinary-matter matching, formation/lifetime or infinite-volume claim.

A qualified diagnostic inventory now joins13 cached and27 fresh candidates into40 comparisons while retaining all failures and cohort provenance; it supplies no new physical state or stationary phase. The six-case tiny hydrodynamic method has separate numerical/controller reviews; its31-case production remains unreleased. The oxygen anchor and physical-flux method reviews remain finite algebra/control results, with no real oxygen eightsector correction or physical encounter production. Original20261005 methods and failed attempts remain individually accessible in the frozen catalog. Historical input gaps are attached only to named failed attempts and do not admit scientific evidence. [Tiny method review](w15-complete-tiny-method-review-20261008.md), [bounded method reviews](independent-bounded-reviews-20261008.md), [flux controller review](w27-full-method-review-findings-20261008.md).

The original fixed optical method now has a complete independent review of 103 records: 65 tables and 6,305 coefficients, 24 scalar supports and 72 coordinates, two crossing boxes and ten coordinates, and twelve physical keys with 36 jets and 1,116 components. Five bounded numerical allocations and their metadata JOIN retain the original precision and comparison gates. This adds review evidence for an existing method, with no new scientific component or independent physical confirmation. The failed reviews remain preserved. Weighted fusion, ordinary alternatives, field matching, the full physical Hessian and a minimum certificate remain open. [Complete optical method review](w22-complete-partition-review-20261008.md).

For the selected LO canonical QCD axion vacuum potential, an analytic stationary census proves only the ordinary static minimum within|theta|<=0.5 for every finite positive quark-mass ratio; the equal-mass cusp is a maximum. This scoped negative result constrains no f_a and excludes neither finite-density nor oscillatory backgrounds. Full field viability remains open. [Static census](canonical-qcd-axion-static-vacuum-census-20261008.md).
