# A clock template and its false positive

A known-arrival template score alone is insufficient: a common calibration step can have the same projection onto the field template. The channel relationships supply additional information. The accompanying E12 ensemble quantifies recovery; this single realization is illustrative and is not GPS evidence.

Six synthetic clock channels reveal a field injection, a calibration event with a similar matched score, or noise alone.

## Field

All data are synthetic. Six correlated clocks, shared reference, 30-second sampling, 300 km/s prescribed front. Seed 120707. The calibration step is deliberately scaled to imitate the same matched score.

First: Time -3360 s. Complete-record matched score at known arrival: 6.83; deterministic mismatch outside the field template: 0.00 whitened units.

Last: Time +3570 s. Complete-record matched score at known arrival: 6.83; deterministic mismatch outside the field template: 0.00 whitened units.

## Calibration

All data are synthetic. Six correlated clocks, shared reference, 30-second sampling, 300 km/s prescribed front. Seed 120707. The calibration step is deliberately scaled to imitate the same matched score.

First: Time -3360 s. Complete-record matched score at known arrival: 6.83; deterministic mismatch outside the field template: 51.39 whitened units.

Last: Time +3570 s. Complete-record matched score at known arrival: 6.83; deterministic mismatch outside the field template: 51.39 whitened units.

## Noise

All data are synthetic. Six correlated clocks, shared reference, 30-second sampling, 300 km/s prescribed front. Seed 120707. The calibration step is deliberately scaled to imitate the same matched score.

First: Time -3360 s. Complete-record matched score at known arrival: -1.17; deterministic mismatch outside the field template: 0.00 whitened units.

Last: Time +3570 s. Complete-record matched score at known arrival: -1.17; deterministic mismatch outside the field template: 0.00 whitened units.
